Cattle Egret

Stopping by in a local park just to check the activity can be pretty good.  This particular park has a small rookery which I like.  I don’t have to deal with a crowd trying to get a close up view or that keep sake photo.  Especially I don’t have to keep swatting those pesky mosquitoes.

Just A Snooze

Waiting for eggs to hatch can be a tough job.  What to do, take a snooze.

Cattle Egret

On Facebook I follow Birds of Texas.  I like it because it is simply a place to post, talk and share bird activities in Texas.  It gives me a chance to see and learn what others are doing.  On occasion I learn of a new area that may be close.  Resoft County Park near Alvin, Texas is a new place I’m going to start checking out.  I had no idea it was only a few miles from my parents house so now my camera will start coming along for the ride.  There is a lake with some islands in the middle which makes for a nice little rookery.  Most of the nesting birds are Cattle Egrets.  Adding another location to visit is a good thing.
